Oily skin can do serious damage to a girl’s look. Unfortunately, during the teen year, oily skin is common as puberty hormones can send oil glands into overdrive. Here are different ways to prevent oily skin.
1.Clean your face
Cleanse your face at least twice daily with a mild, medicated cleanser to help prevent oil-clogging pores. Don’t wash your face more than twice a day as over cleansing can stimulate your oil glands to pump out even more excess oil. Cleanse gently with your fingers or a washcloth and be gentle on your skin.
2. Use astringent daily
Use an astringent daily to remove excess oils. Don’t use an alcohol-based product. Use the toner once daily, in the morning after cleansing your face.
3. Use moisturizer.
If your skin is oily, moisturizing may not be necessary on a daily basis. However, if your face feels tight after washing, then apply a light oil free moisturizer.
4. Use the right make-up.
When choosing make-up be sure to buy oil free products., makeup that is water based and noncomedogenic are best to use since it wont clog pores. Choose also oil-absorbing foundations that help keep oil off face.
5. Take a Powder.
Try using a translucent powder instead that is formulated to soak up oil.
6.Drink Water
Keep skin hydrated by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a ay. This will go a long way toward balancing the levels in your skin and giving it a batter appearance.
7. Eat right.
Reduce fats and oils in your diet. Try to cut out processed foods as much as possible that means cutting out fast foods, frozen dinners and junky snacks..
8. Clean your face.
Steam clean your face once or twice a week. Heat a kettle of water to boiling and carefully pour the water into a plugged sink or a porcelain bowl. Wrap your hair into a towel. Then place your face over the bowl or sink of hot water and hold eat there for 5 minutes.
